Suffered in Sardis together with Bishop Carpus, Deacon Papylus, and Martyr Agathonike under Emperor Decius.

Martyr Agathodorus of Sardis suffered for Christ around 251 during the persecution of Emperor Decius. In Sardis, together with Hieromartyr Carpus, Bishop of Thyatira, and Deacon Papylus, he was subjected to cruel torture. Carpus and Papylus were beheaded; Agathodorus and the martyr Agathonike voluntarily followed them in martyrdom — Agathodorus was beaten to death with ox sinews.
