Great Martyr Anastasia the Deliverer from Potions (Pharmakolytria)

Great Martyr Anastasia was born in Rome to the pagan Praetextatus and the Christian Fausta. She was a disciple of Hieromartyr Chrysogonus. She secretly visited Christians imprisoned during the persecution of Emperor Diocletian, washing and feeding the sick, bandaging wounds, and comforting the suffering, for which she received the epithet "Deliverer from Potions" (Greek: Pharmakolytria). After the execution of her teacher Chrysogonus, she went to help persecuted Christians, passing through Greece and Macedonia, where she herself was captured and, after cruel torture, burned at the stake in the city of Sirmium around 304. In early hagiographic sources, the lives of Anastasia the Deliverer from Potions (the Younger) and Anastasia Rimlyanynya (the Elder, a venerable martyr) are sometimes conflated.
