Hierarch Anatolius of Laodicea

A philosopher and scholar from Alexandria, author of ten books on mathematics, later Bishop of Laodicea in Syria.

Hierarch Anatolius of Laodicea was a native of Alexandria, where even before his episcopate he enjoyed high authority in scholarly circles as a philosopher and mathematician, author of ten books on mathematics. He was later made Bishop of the city of Laodicea in Syria. He died on 3 July 283.
