Blessed Andrew the Holy Fool of Constantinople was a saint of the 9th-10th century who took up the ascetic feat of foolishness-for-Christ. He is famous for his vision of the Mother of God in the Blachernae church, which became the basis for the Feast of the Protection of the Theotokos. His memory is celebrated on October 15 (2 O.S.).
