A courtier of the Persian king Shapur II, a secret Christian; suffered together with Akindynos, Pigasius, and others for refusing to renounce Christ.
Martyr Anempodistus was a courtier of the Persian king Shapur II (310–381) who secretly confessed the Christian faith, together with Akindynos and Pigasius. When the king began a persecution of Christians, informers denounced them, and standing trial, the holy martyrs fearlessly confessed their faith in the Holy Trinity. For their steadfastness in confession they were subjected to cruel torments and died for Christ together with many other confessors, including the nobleman Elpidiphorus and the king's own mother.
