Venerable Anthusa of Seleucia — was baptized by Athanasius, Bishop of Tarsus in Cilicia, during the persecution of Emperor Aurelian (270–275), and spent 23 years as an ascetic hermit in the wilderness.
Venerable Anthusa received holy baptism from Athanasius, Bishop of Tarsus in Cilicia, during the persecution of Christians under Emperor Aurelian (270–275). After her baptism she withdrew into the wilderness, where she spent 23 years in fasting and prayer. She reposed around the year 280. Her memory is kept on August 22/September 4.
