Apostle Achaicus of the Seventy is mentioned by Apostle Paul in 1 Corinthians 16:17. He was a faithful co-worker of Apostle Paul, laboring with him in preaching the Gospel. He brought joy to Apostle Paul by arriving together with Stephanas and Fortunatus at Ephesus as a representative of the Corinthian Church, informing him of the good state of the community. According to the Greek Menaia (Synaxarion of Nikodemos), he died peacefully, though another tradition holds he died of hunger and thirst. His memory is kept on January 4/17, in the Synaxis of the Seventy Apostles.
