Apostle Andronicus of the Seventy, Bishop of Pannonia — a relative and co-laborer of Apostle Paul, who together with St. Junia destroyed pagan temples, built churches, and converted many pagans to Christ; he was martyred around the year 58.
Holy Apostle Andronicus of the Seventy was a relative and co-laborer of Apostle Paul in his apostolic labors. He was appointed Bishop of Pannonia (Sirmium), but also preached in other lands together with his helper, St. Junia. He destroyed pagan temples, built churches, converted many pagans to Christ, and worked miracles. Sts. Andronicus and Junia were martyred around the year 58. His memory is kept on May 17/30, as well as January 4/17 in the Synaxis of the Seventy Apostles and July 30/August 12.
