Apostle Crescens of the Seventy, of Galatia — ordained bishop in a city of Asia Minor, he preached the Gospel in Gaul, then returned to Galatia, where he was martyred under Emperor Trajan.
Apostle Crescens of the Seventy was ordained bishop in one of the cities of Asia Minor, and then preached the Gospel in Gaul. Returning to Galatia, he zealously preached the Gospel and was martyred under Emperor Trajan (98–117). His memory is kept on July 30/August 12 together with the Apostles of the Seventy Silas, Silvanus, Epaenetus, Andronicus, and others, as well as January 4/17 in the Synaxis of the Seventy Apostles.
