Apostle Epaenetus of the Seventy — mentioned by Apostle Paul in the Epistle to the Romans (16:5) as the "firstfruits of Achaia," one of the first he converted to Christ in that region.
Apostle Epaenetus of the Seventy is mentioned by Apostle Paul in the Epistle to the Romans: "Salute my well-beloved Epaenetus, who is the firstfruits of Achaia unto Christ" (Romans 16:5). He labored zealously in preaching the Gospel, accompanying Apostle Paul. His memory is kept on July 30/August 12 together with the Apostles of the Seventy Silas, Silvanus, Crescens, Andronicus, and others, as well as January 4/17 in the Synaxis of the Seventy Apostles.
