Apostle Epaphras of the Seventy was made Bishop of the city of Colossae, and also oversaw the churches of Laodicea and Hierapolis in Asia Minor (mentioned in Colossians 1:7, 4:12-13). He shared Apostle Paul's imprisonment, being with him in captivity in Rome (Philemon 1:23). The commemoration date of March 30/April 12 given in the original card is not independently confirmed specifically for Epaphras — it is the documented date for his contemporary namesake Epaphroditus of Philippi; there may be confusion between these two distinct New Testament figures with similar names.
