Hieromartyr Euodius, Apostle of the Seventy — the first Bishop of Antioch in Syria after Apostle Peter, who governed the see for 27 years; he is credited with authorship of a work called "The Lamp" and the tradition that the Theotokos was 15 years old at the Nativity of the Savior; he was martyred under Emperor Nero.
Hieromartyr Euodius, Apostle of the Seventy, became the first Bishop of Antioch in Syria after Apostle Peter and governed this see for 27 years. In one of his writings he stated that the Most Holy Theotokos was fifteen years old when she gave birth to the Savior. He is also credited with authorship of a book called "The Lamp," mentioned by the 14th-century church historian Nicephorus Callistus, though the text itself has not survived. He was martyred in 66 under Emperor Nero. His memory is kept on September 7/20, as well as January 4/17 in the Synaxis of the Seventy Apostles (in the Romanian tradition also on April 28).
