Hierarch Auxibius, Bishop of Soli (Cyprus) — born in Rome; he settled on Cyprus near the city of Soli, where he met the Apostle and Evangelist Mark, who was preaching on the island; he was made Bishop of Soli by Apostle Mark and governed the diocese for 50 years.
Hierarch Auxibius was born in Rome to a wealthy family. He settled on the island of Cyprus in the locality of Limnitis, not far from the city of Soli, where he met the Holy Apostle and Evangelist Mark, who was preaching the Word of God on Cyprus. Apostle Mark made Auxibius Bishop of the city of Soli. The hierarch wisely governed the diocese for 50 years, converting numerous pagans of the island to Christ. He reposed peacefully around 102. His memory is kept on February 17/March 2.
