The holy martyrs Basilissa and Anastasia of Rome suffered in the 1st century under Emperor Nero. Baptized by apostles Peter and Paul, they devoted themselves to serving the Lord. They fearlessly collected bodies of martyrs and gave them proper burial. They were arrested, tortured cruelly, and beheaded around 68 AD. Their memory is kept on April 15/28.
