Righteous Parasceva of Diveyevo

Blessed Parasceva, also known as Pasha of Sarov, was born in 1795 in the village of Nikolskoye, Spassky district, Tambov province. She took up the feat of foolishness for Christ's sake and became one of the most renowned Russian wanderers and seers at the turn of the 19th–20th centuries. According to tradition, she met with Emperor Nicholas II and predicted to him his abdication, the martyric death of the entire royal family, and its subsequent church glorification. She was one of the blessed elder-women of Diveyevo, continuing the spiritual line of foolishness at the Seraphim-Diveyevo Convent (she was later succeeded by Blessed Mary (Fedina)). She died on September 22, 1915. She was glorified as a locally-venerated saint of the Nizhny Novgorod diocese on July 31, 2004; her relics were uncovered on September 20, 2004, and rest in the Kazan Church of the Seraphim-Diveyevo Convent. Her memory is kept on September 22/October 5 (day of repose), and also on June 14/27 within the Synaxis of Diveyevo Saints.
