Synaxis Synaxis of the Boris-and-Gleb Saints
"Boris-and-Gleb Saints" — an iconographic composition (drawing by N. E. Aldoshina, Sergiev Posad, 1996–1999) collectively depicting ascetics associated with monasteries dedicated to Sts. Boris and Gleb (in particular, the Borisoglebsky Monastery near Rostov the Great); no separate, officially instituted independent feast of this Synaxis was found — these saints are venerated as part of the Synaxis of Rostov-Yaroslavl Saints.
The composition "Boris-and-Gleb Saints" is a drawing by the iconographer N. E. Aldoshina, made in Sergiev Posad in 1996–1999, uniting ascetics historically associated with monasteries dedicated to the passion-bearer saints Boris and Gleb — above all the famous Borisoglebsky Monastery on the Ustye River near Rostov the Great (founded in the 14th century by Venerables Theodore and Paul of Rostov, the site of the labors of Venerable Irinarch the Recluse). Research found no evidence of a separately, officially instituted feast of a "Synaxis of Boris-and-Gleb Saints" — the monastics and ascetics of these communities are commemorated as part of the broader, reliably established Synaxis of Rostov-Yaroslavl Saints (May 23/June 5). The card is preserved as an honestly described iconographic composition without an independent calendar date.
