Martyr Claudia of Rome — a companion of Martyr Eugenia of Rome, one of her fellow ascetics converted to Christ; she was killed by the sword in 262 on the feast of the Nativity of Christ.
Martyr Claudia belonged to the fellow ascetics and spiritual children of Martyr Eugenia of Rome, a noble virgin who secretly took monastic vows disguised as a man and labored in Egypt. After being unmasked and subsequently confessing her faith before the emperor, Claudia, together with Eugenia's other companions, continued to firmly hold to the Christian faith despite persecution. She was seized and, in 262, killed by the sword on the feast of the Nativity of Christ. Her memory is kept on December 25/January 7 together with Martyr Eugenia of Rome and her companions.
