Martyr Domnica (Domnina) of Anazarbus — during the reign of Emperor Diocletian (284-305), she was seized for confessing the Christian faith and brought before the tribunal of Lysias, ruler of Anazarbus in Cilicia; she was subjected to cruel torture (beaten with ox-hide whips, her feet burned with red-hot iron, her joints broken) and thrown into prison, where she died in 286.
Martyr Domnica suffered for confessing Christ during the persecution of Emperor Diocletian (284-305). She was seized and brought to trial before Lysias, ruler of the city of Anazarbus in Cilicia (Asia Minor). For refusing to offer sacrifice to pagan gods, she was subjected to cruel torture: beaten with ox-hide whips, her feet burned with red-hot iron, her joints broken. Unbroken by the torments, the saint was thrown into prison, where she soon died from the sufferings endured, in 286. Her memory is kept on October 12/25.
