Martyr Domnina of Rome — the blood sister of St. Martyr Photina (Svetlana) the Samaritan Woman, the Gospel woman who conversed with Christ at Jacob's well; together with her sisters and other family members she was brought to trial before Emperor Nero in Rome for confessing the Christian faith and suffered a martyr's death around the year 66.
Martyr Domnina was the blood sister of St. Martyr Photina (Svetlana), the Samaritan woman who conversed with Christ at Jacob's well near the city of Sychar (John 4:5-42) and later became a zealous preacher of Christianity. Together with Photina and other sisters and relatives, Martyr Domnina was seized and brought to trial before Emperor Nero in Rome, where the whole family firmly confessed faith in Christ in the face of cruel persecution. For this confession, Domnina, like her relatives, suffered a martyr's death around the year 66. Her memory is kept on March 20/April 2 together with Martyr Photina the Samaritan Woman and her company.
