Prophetess Huldah the Prophetess

The Prophetess Huldah — an Old Testament prophetess who lived in Jerusalem during the reign of King Josiah, who confirmed the authenticity of the Book of the Law found in the Temple and prophesied the destruction of Jerusalem for the people's apostasy from God, but announced to King Josiah that, because of his humility, he would not live to see this disaster.
The Prophetess Huldah lived in Jerusalem, the wife of Shallum, keeper of the wardrobe (2 Kings 22:14). When High Priest Hilkiah discovered the Book of the Law during the repair of the Jerusalem Temple, King Josiah's officials turned to Huldah to confirm the authenticity of the find (2 Kings 22:14-20; 2 Chronicles 34:22-28).
The prophetess declared that God would bring calamity and destruction upon Jerusalem and its inhabitants for their idolatry, but personally granted King Josiah, for his humility and repentance, the consolation that he would "be gathered to his fathers in peace" and would not see the coming catastrophe with his own eyes. According to tradition, she was honored with burial within the walls of Jerusalem — an exceptional distinction.
IMPORTANT CORRECTION: the original stub erroneously listed category_gender as "m" (male) — a clear technical error, since Huldah is unquestionably a woman (Shallum's wife). The field has been corrected to "f". The commemoration date has also been corrected: the original "September 1/14" finds no confirmation in any source (this is the date of the ecclesiastical new year and the feast of St. Symeon the Stylite, unrelated to Huldah) — replaced with the correct date of April 10/23.
