Martyr Capito of Oliveria — beheaded together with Martyr Pamphilus in the locality of Oliveria near Constantinople for confessing Christ.
Martyrs Capito and Pamphilus suffered for Christ in the locality of Oliveria near Constantinople, being beheaded for refusing to renounce the Christian faith. No detailed historical life has survived; the two martyrs are commemorated together.
Their feast is kept on August 12/25, together with Martyr Pamphilus.
NOTE: the original stub was an unprocessed image caption from pravicon.com for a fresco by the master Tzortzis (Zorzis) Fuka (Dionysiou Monastery, Mount Athos, 1547) depicting the martyrdom of Sts. Pamphilus and Capito — it has been reworked into a coherent life; the previously empty feast-date and life-dates fields have been filled in.
