Martyr Felix (Filix) of Athens — one of a group of Athenian martyrs (Deacon Isaurus, Innocent, Felix, Hermias, Basil, Peregrinus), who suffered in Apollonia, Macedonia, under Emperor Numerian, together with the converted magistrates Rufus and Rufinus.
Martyrs Isaurus the deacon, Innocent, Felix, Hermias, Basil, and Peregrinus were natives of Athens who suffered for Christ in the Macedonian city of Apollonia during the reign of Emperor Numerian (283–284).
While preaching Christ in Apollonia, they were seized and subjected to cruel torture for refusing to sacrifice to idols. Two city magistrates, Rufus and Rufinus, witnessing their steadfastness, believed in Christ and were executed together with the confessors.
Felix accepted martyrdom together with the whole group.
His feast is kept on July 6/19.
