Martyr Revocatus — a slave and catechumen who suffered in Carthage together with Martyr Perpetua, Felicity, and others under Emperor Septimius Severus in 203.
Saint Revocatus was a slave and catechumen (not yet baptized), arrested together with his fellow slave Felicity, as well as Perpetua (already documented in our database as a separate entry, martyr_perpetua), Saturninus, and Secundulus in Carthage under Emperor Septimius Severus.
IMPORTANT NOTE: the earliest source, the "Passion of Saints Perpetua and Felicity," preserves no individually distinguishing episode, vision, or speech for Revocatus — he is consistently named only as part of the group of catechumens. In the arena, together with Saturninus, he was exposed to a leopard and a bear, surviving the beasts' attack before finally dying by the sword along with the other martyrs. This Life is deliberately kept brief, without inventing details that tradition did not preserve.
His feast is kept on February 1/14 together with the whole group of Carthaginian martyrs.
