Hieromartyr New Martyr Constantine Golubev

Hieromartyr Constantine Alekseevich Golubev was born in 1852 in the village of Baranovka, Saratov Governorate. He was a noted missionary who combated the Old Believer schism in Saratov Governorate. In 1895 he was transferred to the town of Bogorodsk in Moscow Governorate, where he served as cathedral archpriest of the Epiphany Cathedral and continued his active missionary work. In the autumn of 1918, after the establishment of Soviet power, Father Constantine was arrested and sentenced to death; the execution was carried out with particular cruelty — the mortally wounded priest was buried alive near Bogorodsk. He was glorified among the saints of the Russian Orthodox Church in 2000 as Hieromartyr Constantine of Bogorodsk.
