Martyr Phronimus of Thessaloniki — an early Christian martyr who suffered in Thessaloniki with several other Christians whose names have not survived; the only source is the Western Martyrologium Hieronymianum, and the saint is absent from standard ROC calendars.
CRITICAL CORRECTION: the previous card contained wholly unreliable data — the category "hierarch" and the date "April 25" are unsupported by any source, and the biography text ("known for piety and mercy," "bishop of Thessaloniki during the Byzantine period") turned out to be generic invented boilerplate with no factual basis, as was the stated "death year c. 900."
The only genuine source found for this saint is the Western Latin Martyrologium Hieronymianum, which under March 14 briefly records the place and fact of Phronimus's martyrdom together with three or four other Christians whose names have not survived. No other biographical details, birth date, or death date are given by this source. The category has been corrected to "martyr" (not "hierarch"); the date corrected to March 14.
HONEST CAVEAT: the saint is absent from standard Russian Orthodox Church calendars (Menaion, mesyatseslov, azbyka.ru, drevo-info.ru, days.pravoslavie.ru) — his only known mention comes from a Western hagiographic compilation and an English-language OrthodoxWiki catalog of "Greek saints," which warrants caution regarding the very fact of his veneration within Orthodox tradition.
