Righteous Theoclite the Wonderworker

Venerable Theoclite (Theokliti) the Wonderworker was a Byzantine saint of the 9th century, venerated chiefly in the Greek tradition. Born in the Theme of the Optimatoi to pious, well-born parents named Constantine and Anastasia, she lived during the reign of the iconoclast emperor Theophilos. She married a devout and merciful man named Zacharias and together they led an exemplary Christian family life. Theoclite became renowned for her charity, opening her home to those in need and distributing much of her wealth among the poor, widows, orphans, and struggling families. Foreseeing her own death, she gathered her loved ones and joyfully announced her approaching passing. After her repose, her incorrupt relics became a source of numerous healings and miracles, earning her the title "the Wonderworker." Her life is preserved mainly in Greek synaxaria and does not yet appear with a dedicated entry in standard Russian church calendars.
