Righteous Theodosius of Glushitsa

Venerable Theodosius of Glushitsa labored in the 15th century at the Glushitsa Sosnovets Monastery in the Vologda land, founded by St. Dionysius of Glushitsa (1362–1437). He was one of the closest disciples of the monastery's founder, together with Venerables Amphilochius and Macarius of Glushitsa. The exact years of his birth and repose have not survived; early sources mention him briefly, listing him among St. Dionysius's disciples alongside Amphilochius, Macarius, and Tarasius (already described separately in this database). Through strict monastic labor — fasting, prayer, and bodily toil — Theodosius acquired spiritual wisdom and served as an example of humility for the brethren. His relics rest in the monastery founded by St. Dionysius. His memory is kept according to an ancient handwritten office composed for the saints of the Glushitsa monastery, together with St. Dionysius's other disciples. He is venerated in the Synaxis of the Saints of Vologda.
