Righteous Tryphosa

Tryphosa was a Christian woman of the apostolic age mentioned by St. Paul in Romans 16:12: "Greet Tryphaena and Tryphosa, who labor in the Lord." She is named alongside Tryphaena — likely a blood or spiritual sister, addressed by Paul as a pair of women who labored in preaching and church service in Rome. Nothing further is recorded in Scripture, and apocryphal traditions do not develop her as an individual figure. In the Western tradition, Tryphaena and Tryphosa were jointly commemorated on November 10 in the pre-1960 Roman Martyrology as "holy women at Iconium" — though this location does not match the tradition of the martyr Tryphaena of Cyzicus, suggesting a conflation of different figures. No individual feast day for the righteous Tryphosa exists in the current official calendar of the Russian Orthodox Church; she is venerated among the righteous as a fellow-worker of the Apostle Paul.
