Venerable Juliana of Olshansk

Righteous virgin Juliana, Princess of Olshansk, lived in the first half of the 16th century, of the noble Dubrovytsky-Olshansky family, benefactors of the Kiev Caves Monastery. Daughter of Prince Yuri Dubrovytsky-Olshansky, she reposed a virgin in her sixteenth year before her arranged marriage took place. Buried by relatives near the Dormition Cathedral of the Lavra. In the early 17th century, under Archimandrite Elisei Pletenetsky, her incorrupt coffin was discovered by chance during grave-digging, bearing an inscription confirming her identity. Her body was found incorrupt, in silk garments with a gold ring and jewelry. Her relics were translated to the Caves, where they remain venerated. In 1617 a man who desecrated her tomb was healed upon touching her relics. Feast kept July 6/19, and within the Synaxis of the Venerable Fathers of the Kiev Caves.
