Martyr Mary of Caesarea (Palestine)

Martyr Mary of Caesarea in Palestine suffered for Christ in the city of Caesarea during the persecution of Christians under Emperor Diocletian in the early 4th century. Together with the Martyrs Kyriaki and Valeria (Kaleria), she was seized by pagans for confessing faith in Christ, subjected to cruel torture, and put to death after refusing to sacrifice to idols. The holy women steadfastly endured their torments, never wavering in their faith to the end. Their witness is preserved in church tradition as an example of unshakable fidelity to Christ in the face of death. Martyr Mary's feast is kept June 7/20, together with Martyrs Kyriaki and Valeria.
