Venerable Ywi (Ivo) of Wilton

Venerable Ywi (Latinized as Ivo) labored in 7th-century England as a disciple and companion of St. Cuthbert of Lindisfarne. According to tradition, he later traveled with missionary and eremitic intent to Brittany, France, where he led a strict ascetic life and reposed. His relics were venerated in the Breton region of France; in the 10th century, according to tradition, they were miraculously discovered and translated to England, to Wilton Abbey, which took him as one of its heavenly patrons. His exact dates are not established.
