Hieromartyr

Hieromartyr Alexander Lebedev

1878–1937 (предположительно)

Also known as: Александр Капитонович Лебедев (вероятная идентичность)

A priest of the Voronezh diocese, shot in 1937 as a New Martyr of the Russian Church (identity requires further confirmation, as the name is very common).

NOTE: several glorified saints of the Russian Church bore the name "Alexander Lebedev" (including righteous laymen and several repressed clergy), and the original card contained no distinguishing details (no labeled images, no year, no place). The most probable candidate found through research is Priest Alexander Kapitonovich Lebedev (1878–1937), a native of the village of Rozhdestvenskaya Khava, Voronezh province. Ordained priest on 11 June 1905 at the Dimitrievskaya church of the settlement of Masalitino; in 1911 transferred to the Kazan church of the village of Mozhaiskoye, Voronezh uyezd; later served at the Nativity church of his home village. Shot in 1937, glorified in the Synaxis of New Martyrs and Confessors of the Russian Church, commemorated 9/22 October. The exact match of this card to this specific person cannot be considered 100% proven without additional sources.
