Apostle Artemas of the Seventy, Bishop of Lystra — a disciple of Apostle Paul, mentioned in the Epistle to Titus (3:12); he was made bishop of the Lycaonian city of Lystra.
Apostle Artemas of the Seventy lived in the 1st century and was a disciple of Apostle Paul. He is mentioned in Paul's Epistle to Titus: "When I shall send Artemas unto thee, or Tychicus, be diligent to come unto me to Nicopolis" (Titus 3:12). He was made Bishop of the Lycaonian city of Lystra, where he zealously preached the Gospel. His memory is kept on October 30/November 12 together with the Apostles of the Seventy Tertius, Mark, and Justus, as well as March 13 and January 4/17 in the Synaxis of the Seventy Apostles.
