Apostle Narcissus of the Seventy, Bishop of Athens — mentioned by Apostle Paul in the Epistle to the Romans (16:11: "Salute them that be of the household of Narcissus, which are in the Lord"); he preached and was made bishop in Athens.
Apostle Narcissus of the Seventy was chosen by Christ for preaching the Gospel and is mentioned by Apostle Paul in the Epistle to the Romans: "Salute them that be of the household of Narcissus, which are in the Lord" (Romans 16:11). He preached the Gospel and was later made bishop of the city of Athens. His memory is kept on October 31/November 13 together with the Apostles of the Seventy Stachys, Ampliatus, Apelles, Aristobulus, and Urban, as well as January 4/17 in the Synaxis of the Seventy Apostles.
