Venerable Domnika of Constantinople

Venerable Domnika came from Carthage to Constantinople in the time of the holy Emperor Theodosius the Great. She was baptized by Patriarch Nectarius of Constantinople and entered a monastery. She later founded her own monastery in honor of St. Zacharias, gathered virgins around her, and labored with them in fasting and prayer. She healed the sick, had power over the elements, and possessed the gift of clairvoyance, turning many residents of the capital to care for their souls. She departed to the Lord an unblemished virgin in extreme old age around 474. She was a co-struggler of Venerable Maura of Constantinople.
