Righteous Euthymius of Crete (identity unconfirmed)

The entry "Euthymius of Crete" is not confirmed by any authoritative source as a distinct historical saint; the original dates (377-473) are contamination from Venerable Euthymius the Great of Palestine.

The complete list of the Ten Martyrs of Crete, checked against three independent sources (days.pravoslavie.ru, pravenc.ru, azbyka.ru) — Theodulus, Saturninus, Euporus, Gelasius, Eunician, Zoticus, Pompius, Agathopus, Basilides, Evarestus (already correctly presented in the separate card evarest_kritskiy) — does not include a name "Euthymius." No independently, reliably attested saint "Euthymius of Crete" could be found in major reference sources. Only two weak, unconfirmed leads surfaced: (1) a locally venerated, undated Cretan hermit "Άγιος Ευθύμιος" near the locality of Nivryto, known only from local tourism/news sources and not mentioned in any major Orthodox reference work; (2) a possible transliteration confusion with "Eumenius of Gortyna" (St. Eumenius, Bishop of Gortyna, 7th c., opponent of Monotheletism) — the names "Eumenius" and "Euthymius" are visually and phonetically close in Russian transcription. The original structured dates (377-473) are direct contamination from the dates of Venerable Euthymius the Great of Palestine. In the absence of a confirming source, this entry is marked as an unconfirmed identity and disabled from calendar display.
