Righteous Phygelus (not a saint — New Testament apostate)

Phygelus (Figellus) — a name mentioned in the Second Epistle to Timothy (2 Tim 1:15) as one of the Asian Christians who TURNED AWAY from the Apostle Paul, together with a certain Hermogenes; this is a negative New Testament figure, not an Orthodox saint — no source confirms the existence of a separately venerated "Righteous Figellus."
The name "Phygelus" (in Slavonic transliteration, Figellius) appears in the New Testament only once — in the Apostle Paul's Second Epistle to Timothy: "You know that all who are in Asia turned away from me, among whom are Phygelus and Hermogenes" (2 Tim 1:15). This refers to an Asian Christian who, together with a certain Hermogenes, deserted the Apostle Paul — likely during his imprisonment, out of fear of the consequences of association with a condemned prisoner. St. John Chrysostom, in his commentary on this Epistle, mentions Phygelus in a neutral-to-critical tone, as an example of cowardly desertion, but nowhere calls him a saint or attributes to him any repentance or subsequent glorification. No verified source (azbyka.ru, drevo-info.ru, the Orthodox Encyclopedia) contains a separate hagiography, feast day, or iconography for a "Righteous Figellus" — no such veneration exists in Orthodox tradition.
