Righteous Persis

Persis — a Christian woman of the apostolic age, mentioned by the Apostle Paul in the Epistle to the Romans (16:12) as one who labored hard in the Lord; she has no independent commemoration in Orthodox calendars.
Persis is mentioned by the Apostle Paul only once, in the closing greetings of the Epistle to the Romans: "Greet Persis the beloved, who labored much in the Lord" (Romans 16:12). Judging by her name (Greek for "Persian woman"), she may have come from Persia.
IMPORTANT NOTE: despite this honorable mention by the Apostle, thorough checking (including the full roster of the Synaxis of the Seventy Apostles) found no independent commemoration for Persis in any of the calendars and menologia consulted — even Archimandrite Nikifor (Bazhanov) noted in his 1891 Bible Encyclopedia: "her name does not appear in our monthly calendars." No martyrdom is attested for her anywhere either — the category "martyr" has no support in the sources.
Given the absence of an established feast date and formal glorification, this entry is kept as an honest reflection of a genuine New Testament figure, but without inventing a date and without calendar display.
