CRITICALLY IMPORTANT HONEST WARNING ON CANONIZATION: Fr. Nicholas Guryanov has NOT been canonized by the Moscow Patriarchate — there is no Synodal decision on his glorification, no approved liturgical service or akathist, and no translation of relics. He remains a widely venerated, locally-honored elder whom believers often speak of as a "future saint," but that is explicitly not the same as an actual glorification. The previously listed contaminated date list ("December 6/May 9/July 29," belonging to St. Nicholas the Wonderworker of Myra) has been removed — Fr. Nicholas has no official day of church commemoration, since no formal glorification has taken place.

Nicholas Alekseevich Guryanov was born in 1909. For over 40 years (1958–2002) he served as rector of the Church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker on Zalit (Talabsk) Island in Lake Pskov. He became one of the most visited and celebrated elders of the late-Soviet and post-Soviet era, known for spiritual counsel, gifts of foresight (tradition holds he predicted the fall of communism, the canonization of the Royal Passion-Bearers, and the sinking of the submarine Kursk), and hospitality to pilgrims. He died August 24, 2002; over 3,000 people attended his funeral on the island.

He remains a focus of wide popular veneration and pilgrimage, but without formal church glorification as of the time this card was compiled.
