Hieromartyr Sadoc of Persia — bishop, successor to Hieromartyr Simeon of Persia, beheaded with about 128 clergy and laity under Shah Shapur II.
Hieromartyr Sadoc (Shahdost) of Persia, bishop and successor to Hieromartyr Simeon of Persia, was martyred in 342 under Shah Shapur II during the persecution of Christians in the Sassanid Empire. Before his arrest he saw a vision of the departed St. Simeon strengthening him for martyrdom.
Along with him, roughly 128 clergy and faithful — including 9 women — were seized, imprisoned and tortured for five months to renounce Christ and worship sun and fire; upon refusal all were beheaded. Commemorated February 20 / March 5.
