An image of the Mother of God circulated in the early 2000s without the blessing of the church authorities. Patriarch Alexy II named it among the unauthorised images that should be withdrawn from church use.
Образ «Дары дающая» появился в начале 2000-х годов и распространялся без благословения правящего архиерея. На Архиерейском соборе Русской Православной Церкви 2004 года Святейший Патриарх Алексий II, говоря об участившихся случаях самочинного «иконотворчества», назвал среди примеров и это изображение. Патриарх призвал архиереев рассматривать подобные изображения и сопровождающую их литературу на епархиальных комиссиях и изымать самочинные иконы из употребления.
