A modern image based on an account of a vision in which the Mother of God intercedes for the earth before the Father and the Son, holding back judgement on the sinful world.
Икона появилась сравнительно недавно, и сведений о ней немного. Её смысл передают так: в видении одному человеку Бог Отец, разгневанный на грехи людей, передаёт землю Сыну со словами «Ты суди, Сыне», а Сын возвращает её со словами «Нет, Ты суди, Отче». Тогда из облака является Богородица, обнимает землю и говорит: «Оставьте её Мне». Образ выражает мысль о заступничестве Богоматери, укрывающей людей от заслуженного гнева Божия.
